“Ostendum is changing the healthcare landscape by enabling doctors to analyse samples bedside, in an ambulance, in their surgeries, or even while on a housecall,” explains Roelof Konterman, Member of the Board of Directors at Achmea.”

The latter enables Ostendum to speed up its development of low costs disposable chips, and to have access to shared production facilities within state-of-the-art clean room settings.
Ostendum was awarded with a generous Nano4Vitality subsidy, which programme is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and the provinces of Overijssel and Gelderland. To this end, Ostendum works together with Zwanenberg Food Group for robust testing of the Ostendum method in a food processing environment, with the Laboratorium Microbiologie Twente/Achterhoek and the Medisch Spectrum Twente (MST) to obtain further proof of concept with real patient samples.
